ALGONQUINS RESIST URANIUM MINING AND ASSERT INDIGENOUS SOVEREIGNTY

In the past several months, members of the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation
and Shabot Obaadjiwan First Nation have resisted potential uranium
mining on their unceded territories. A corporation called "Frontenac
Ventures" have been testing for uranium for several years. Since June
28, the site of the mine has been blocked by an encampment that
continues to this day. Jenn Tsun, a dissident member of the Ardoch
Algonquin First Nation, provides background to the resistance near
Sharbot Lake, Ontario.
