"The point is that the white laws that apply to us were designed on the belief that we would always agree to what we were told by white officials. These laws become unworkable when Aborigines resist them and by our conduct start forging our own independence. The more Australian law changes to adopt international standards which apply to all indigenous people, the easier it will become for us to broaden out our campaign of civil disobedience onto a much more meaningful level."
